Do you recall whereabouts in the zoo this photo was taken? I have a species list from the month after your visit which could help narrow it down if you can.
It could perhaps be a Steppe Agama (Trapelus sanguinolentus) then? Not sure, as most of the photos of this species online are either of females, young males or during breeding season, however from the descriptions I can find (frustratingly no photos) adult males should look something like this outside of the breeding season.
Really don’t know too much about lizards myself, so someone with more knowledge on that front may have to help you out here, but that is my only real lead.
