I see that the classic tiles were maintained, which is great for zoo history buffs. I was wondering, @Shirokuma , how long a tour of the Alfred-Brehm-Haus would take? Last summer I spent something like 8 or 8.5 hours at the Tierpark and my feet were killing me due in no small part to 8 hours the previous day at Berlin Zoo. Of course the Alfred-Brehm-Haus was closed then, but surely the opening of the building potentially adds another hour to a zoo day. Good grief!
I would say easily an hour. But I’m aware that different people visit zoos in different ways. If you’re not into reptiles you might just pass by the vivaria and focus on the mammals. I rushed a bit because I wanted to take a comprehensive set of photos while there weren’t many people around during the evening opening. I’m going back tomorrow morning - I don’t have unlimited time as I have an afternoon train to catch but I hope to have a more leisurely look at the house.
