These Amano tanks are the exception, to some extent. Most of the small tanks are pretty minimalist. There are some reef tanks which are fairly standard as well, but none of my photos of those were up to scratch. Devilfish added quite a lot more three years ago.
Sumida is very much 'the aquarium as an art gallery'. I think the advantages and disadvantages of that approach are evident.
