That's interesting to know Buenos Aires has kept/still keeps American alligator. I personally have no knowledge of other zoos in South America that did so. Do you happen to remember how was the exhibit as a whole, Carlos?
It was quite nice, large and natural. One of the better exhibits at the old Buenos Aires zoo. Most of the so called exótic reptiles here were sent to Buin zoológico in Santiago, Chile. Not Certain about the alligator.
It seems that the alligator is now at the nearby Temakien bioparque . The transformation of the Buenos Aires zoo into a bioparque was affected by political elements and was rather disorganized, so where the animals went is not often clear.
