Previously this exhibit housed spectacled caiman. A recent renovation included the construction of a deeper pool, minor enlargements, new lighting and a new artificial thunderstorm system.The Branderhorst's snapping turtles and iguanas that lived with the caiman now live with the alligators.

@Jarne You are right, they indeed also replaced the visitor barrier with a newer and taller glass wall.
