This herd of 16 individuals, are the only breeding bison group in the entirety of Africa. Lion and Rhino Nature Reserve keeps a single male which originated from here.

Chris Barnard being a super rich doctor, imported allot of exotic animal including a group of Kangaroo that all died out in 1991, The Arabian Oryx were a gift to him from a Saudi royal, The bison were donated to him by a friend of his in America, And the rest he imported the normal ways one imports super rare animals. He also raised a gorilla on this property which died after a couple of years.
