Bison were rescued in 2020. In 2018 the current Ouessant sheep/American bison/Barbary sheep area housed the Scottish Highland cattle, now housed elsewhere in the park. The tall fence frames are for a future big cat rescue project that has been delayed due to Covid-19 losses and permit delays.
