I find this facility fascinating. Particularly the Waterfowl of the World exhibits. You wouldn't happen to have approximate species lists for these pens would you?
I'll see what I can put together from photos and Zootierliste get back to you!
There is a version of the World Wetlands/Waterfowl of the World exhibits at most of the WWT centres - Slimbridge has the largest and most diverse (including all six species of flamingo, several species of crane, otters, water voles, water shrews and (invisible) beavers as well as waterfowl) - Caerlaverock and Welney are purely nature reserves with no captive wildlife.
WWT centres make for one of the best birdy days out going, as the nature reserves are all very good value as well.
WWT London regularly has Great Bitterns on site - a species phenomenally rare in the UK not so long ago and now regularly visible in the middle of London. Great stuff.
Here's a rough list of birds in World Wetlands as of last October. There are gaps, and there's a surprising degree of uncertainty, so amendments are welcome.
The Frozen North
Common eider
Lesser white-fronted goose
European wigeon
Ross’s goose
Red-breasted goose
Barnacle goose
Thanks Maguari, I was only looking over my photos because I was struggling to remember if there definitely weren't any cranes on display even after just a few months.
