When I saw the peccaries and wild turkeys in this grassy enclosure I'm not sure that I appreciated just how rare the Bolson tortoises were to my eyes. Other than The Living Desert and El Paso zoos I'm not sure how many other facilities in the world showcase this species in an exhibit that can be viewed by the public.
