Amur Tiger and Black-billed Magpie (Homage to Korean Folklore)

As the Amur Tigers were fed the leg-joints, this Black-billed Magpie showed up to scavenge a meal. I waited for quite a while, hoping to to get a good shot of the Tiger and Magpie together. This was the best I could do. For the reference, please Google: Tiger and Magpie Korean Folk Painting. It's kind of neat. October 2013

On a side note, I'd like to see the Alaska Zoo move it's Magpie Exhibit here, with the Tigers behind and maybe a sign depicting the folktale. I think it would be a nice way to celebrate a cultural connection with wildlife (the zoo does a good job with Native Alaskan views) and celebrate the place of Alaska in the Asian-Pacific Sphere (to include our vibrant Korean Community).
