Mazyria who is on loan from Granby to breed with Vasily. She is 12 1/2 and had one previous litter that I know of, triplets in 2013.
She is a big sturdy-looking girl. compared to Kira, who is in Granby now.

Jesus she's old enough! The SSP was definitely just barely throwing Toronto a bone with her. If they get more than a single healthy litter out of her I'll be surprised.
Agreed.
Yesterday she and Vasily were showing a lot of interest in each other and some behaviors that we thought indicated she was cycling. Hopefully TZ will get them together very soon.
Mazyria is definitely an older girl and we will be lucky to get a litter as most females stop at 13. However a single litter from her is important. She is the 12th ranked female of 53. Vasili is 27th of 46 males so we are lucky to have got a mate for him. If we had him and lived in the US we probably wouldn't have received a mate at all. Plus his options in Canada are pretty darn limited as many animals descend from Toronto's former male Tonghua. She's basically his only option. Simsa is already with Tonghua's son Jack. Grand kids Kamra, via Baikal and Youri, via Jack, are already paired through they do have different grandmothers. And while not yet a breeding pair Volga, Jack's daughter is with Vasili's brother Samkha. The only unrelated options are Simsa and Mazyria. Technically there is also Hana at Vancouver but they haven't included her in the anaylsis either because its not an AZA institution or there is some doubts about her lineage. To be fair too Mazyria's choices are limited too here in Canada. Shes the mother of Youri, Spoutnik and Volga so count out her boys. She has already had that one litter by Jack. That leaves Vasili and Samkha. I think she is just buying us time until a better match can be made in 2 to 4 years time.
Mazyria must be pure Amur. The SSP only considers animals who's pedigree can be 100% traced. Any doubt about their bloodlines and where they come from and the animal is moved to the generic tiger SSP which they are really just waiting out to free up spaces for Amurs, Sumatrans and Malayans.
Mongrelly? I don't see that. She is older and starting to look it I guess, but sure didn't show it. When she heard Vasily she was rolling on her back, whining, trying to attract him, although he was out of reach. A friend who has SSP access says she can be traced back to the wild on both sides.
Checked with a couple of sources who have heard nothing of her being less than purebred.
Also agree with TZFan this SSP seems quite particular.
