I wasn't able to confirm that, the member of zoo staff I was talking to about attaining another female wouldn't say definitively, hence I didn't want to proclaim that this bird is the only one in the UK.
No Photoshop trickery involved (I use Lightroom anyway).
Beautiful Birds, which is a large walk-through indoor aviary, has lots of living plants and many perches. The walls have been painted with a faint rainforest mural, in muted brown and green. The bird spends most of its time sitting amongst the foliage, but I waited hours to get it on a perch with a clean background, against an plain area of the mural. It also helps that the background is blurred thanks to f/9 and 390mm.
I'll try to dig out a general shot of Beautiful Birds for an earlier visit.
