Animals as photo props - parrots

In these photos that you've labeled "Animals as Photo Props," do you mean that the birds are somehow affixed to the perches for people to take photos next to them? I remember that @snowleopard posted photos of "birds on a stick" in some of his zoo tours, so I'm wondering if that is what you saw at this Chinese zoo.

@Lori Patton well not "affixed" but basically yes. Birds which are pinioned or wing-clipped and spend their days just sitting on a perch for people to pose with. I know "parrots on sticks" are common in American zoos, but at this zoo it is particularly egregious - you literally cannot walk more than five minutes anywhere in the zoo without seeing them. Some paths are almost lined with them. There are dozens of parrots and all sorts of other birds like hornbills, toucans, owls, etc as well as some mammals like sloths, living like this as just ornaments.
