@Mai Thai This exhibit is now home to lemurs and is presumably going to be taken down for Taronga's new Congo Precinct with gorillas, bongos, pygmy hippos, (and maybe okapi). Okapi are one of those animals that are rare in the wild yet semi-common in zoos, but import laws in Australia are extremely restrictive, especially when it comes to exporting animals out of and into Australia. That's why it was a big deal when Taronga sent platypus to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and presumably a similar exchange would be made but with San Diego sending okapi to Taronga. The okapi transaction is still up in the air (no pun intended), but would definitely be cool to see.
