Home to King, Gentoo, Chinstrap and Rockhopper Penguins and packed with real snow and ice. Viewing is around three sides and both above and below water level. One of the best penguin exhibits I've seen (certainly among indoor-only exhibits).

Well I enjoyed it far more than SeaWorld San Diego's exhibit because when I went there (in 1998 - not sure if they still do this) the lights were off to simulate an Antarctic winter. All well and good, but it felt a bit of a swizz to present you with just penguin shapes moving in the darkness. As a result, I have no idea what species I actually saw that day! (except for the Magellanics that were outside and free of this annoyance!)
