Absolutely, quite shocking, I vividly remember the way both apes reacted
at the public, "Sinbad" in particular could not cope with them, "Kumba`s" reactions were more considered but no less frustrating as his pent up anger built up, also bear in mind this indoor house was heated and very stuffy when jam packed with visitors. Though I am glad to have this rare photo, there cannot be many like that around ?
I don't remember seeing another photo of the interior of this house at this stage. I only saw the Apes in there as youngsters. My next visit to Chessington after that was in 1984 just after they had moved into the new enclosure. Kumba was only in it quite a short time before he was transferred to ZSL and their younger Kumba took his place.
