Is this a recent photo of Cody? Not being in Toronto I dont know if you still have snow. I ask because I have seen other photos of him this year and he has a great big brown patch on his back.
I'm not sure how accurate this is, but I remember a keeper saying that the arctic fox with the brown patch is a female, and currently the only arctic fox at the zoo. The male had died some time ago.
