Welcome to Zoochat SeanKinger6. Glad to have more people on here to talk about the Toronto Zoo,
In terms of these two Arctic Foxes, they are fairly new, having arrived in May. They are both female, name Venus and Jupiter. And yes, they are much younger than the older male Cody.
They are also from Bowmanville Zoo and are just about a year old. They are now getting along fairly well so they have formed a happy little group that will be interesting to watch.
Yeah, I first saw all 3 of them together on Monday, when the girls were seemingly scared of Cody (male). By Thursday, the 3 of them looked to be getting along fine. The girls had no problem with Cody being near them. On Sunday, I couldn't find Cody, so I'm not sure if he was still in there with the girls.
Maybe they are exposing him to them slowly and working their way up to the 3 of them together full time. Keepers cant be on hand to supervise all day so maybe Sunday no keeper was available while you were visiting so Cody was seperated. With new groupings they would be cautious and want to end each interaction on a positive note for the animals. But thats just me guessing. Could be whatever his health problem is meaning he was off for treatment or even off for a training session.
