I'll bow to your better judgement, Alan She doesn't seem to have that wound to the side of her head, that's why I thought it was Ozala rather than Asante, but I now realise that she has got a small wound on her wrist. I'll change the label of the picture.
Definately. She has a reddish crown and more 'open' face than Ozala who is blacker in colour, has lower/heavier brow ridges and a little backward pointing crest. A very good shot of Asante.
When I saw them the other day Asante seemed to ignore the new male, but Ozala followed him around outdoors and stayed within a few feet of him- I think she likes him. Asante stayed inside. Neither of them seem frightened of him though, probably because they are on home ground.

I think this shows how quickly wounds on gorillas heal: the cut or bite an her head was healing well two weeks ago and now it is invisible (hidden by her fur at least).
