Asia Quest Entry

This is the entrance of Asia Quest, Columbus\' latest region featuring animals from Siberia, Indochina, Sumatra, and the Himalayas. While it doesn\'t stand up to Asia Trail at the National Zoo with exhibit design and space, it certainly outclasses their diversity of animals.

This is certainly a spectacular entrance to a noteworthy addition to the Columbus Zoo, with many species of animals and with an outdoor sun bear enclosure and tiger exhibits that are excellent. However, as has been pointed out, the National Zoo's Asia Trail (opened in 2005) is the far better set of habitats.

"Spectacular"? A bit too Flintstone-esk for my taste...

I'd go much further--what a stupid and ugly entrance. This--like most of Columbus's new exhibits--was designed by a group who were involved with Disney's Animal Kingdom, but clearly Disney's internal design team and their budget allowed far better "themeing" results than have been acheived in Columbus. Champagne taste on a beer budget indeed.
