Asian Area - Inquisitive Emu

March 1st, 2010.
snowleopard: Did this emu try and sell you some insurance or some other kind of product? It has that look in its eye.

Asian emus are always more inquisitive than the more common Australian type..And don't even get me started on Asian llamas.

The Asian emus are also more photogenic and love having their photos taken. The Australian type are more laid back but can also be more agressive when provoked, which can lead to serious injury.

Depends on how much beer they've had.

Are Asian emus really more inquisitive than Aussie ones?;) It really bothers me when zoos throw geography out the window, and Wildlife Safari does a great job of doing exactly that. I'm fairly certain that they had rheas and emus in together and most visitors probably think that they are simply males and females from the same species.

Whereas the more educated visitors know that they are adults and juveniles :D
