That`s Sammy who is originally from Amersfoort. I am glad to see that looks well fed and in good condition, he had lost a lot of weight after the transfer to Rotterdam and was very stressed.
I've never seen this elephant before but have to admit that my 1st impression on seeing his picture (and before reading Yassa's comment) was that he seemed on the skinny side (for an elephant).
he seems to be growing quite tall. I'd say he's over 10 feet now. I as well hope he gains more weight.
Are Sammy and Timber housed together? or are there seperate bulls enclosures? I would think at their age its time to keep them seperate.
