Does anyone know what the future holds for the old elephant yard? It always seemed a strange situation to me as its nearly the same size as this exhibit. I know they used it to keep their bull before he was moved, that seemed like a good solution to give the males more space. Last I checked it was still holding the giraffe whilst they constructed the new Savannah area.
@DelacoursLangur the giraffes have now moved into their new home, so it's currently sitting empty. I don't see their previous bull returning so I'm not quite sure what they plan to do with it.
Their adolscent male, Jai Dee recently died so they only have two females remaining. I presume that they intended to keep the other enclosure for Jai Dee once he got older.
