Wow! This makes Garden City's look good. I beat those people in the houses up on the hill love waking up to the trumpets of the elephants and the smell of the dung at 6 in the morning. It would be cool to live near a zoo and see it without having to go in but right above a really noisy animal.
Smaller than the one that used to be at Dudley Zoo (UK) that was soclosed due to lack of size for 2 elephants so why is this still open.
If this is a typical sized enclosure then why aren't all elephant enclosures in Japan being targeted for closure like this would have been in the UK
1. The japanese people don't think about animals and their care as we do, so nobdoy of the visitors would say"hey, this elephant enclosure is too small "The japanese expect to see elephants, so the zoos give them wnat they want.
2. The japanese zoos do not have much money, because the aquariums in japan are much better than the zoos, in many cases, the aquariums have a lot of more visitors thant he zoos even in the cities with an aquarium and a zoo. So the zoos have not the money or the space to build big enclosures, not only for elephants, for all kinds of animals. In two zoos, I've seen single elephants, which spend their life for many, many years alone....In their development, japanese zoos are now on the level of the 50ty years....
