Why can't there be more Asian elephant exhibits like this that actually attempt immersion and natural looking barriers rather than plain yards viewed through cables
@GraysonDP A lot of times it is due to the cost of creating formations such as the ones you see here. As we see more and more multi-acre elephant exhibits, it no longer becomes economical to enclose the exhibit in a fake mud bank. Also from an animal management stand point the cable barriers are handy to have since the keepers can still work with the animal through a cable barrier while being on the same plane as the animal.
