Asian Glossy Starling female

It's really difficult to sex Asian glossy starlings, so I wouldn't like to suggest this is a female. The males and females look pretty much identical to one-another throughout their lives.

It's also easy to be misled by the plumage; this is a juvenile bird, and both males and females will have this plumage type until they mature, which can take many months. The only real change from birds that have just fledged through the juvenile stage, is that the birds' eyes will turn from brown to red.

Eventually the glossy black feathers will appear, with the breast being the last area to change.

Thank you foe the information but I only put it on because the member of staff said it was a female.
