Asian Openbill (Anastomus oscitans)

Taken yesterday at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. My first attempt at searching for a wild species was thankfully extremely successful.

This also happens to be my first time spotting the species in my life. I got extremely lucky being as close as I did with my encounter with this bird hunting for snails.

I lovingly dub this fellow as Piper, probably just for jokes.

@LeMandaiEnthusiast‧ Honestly surprised they are still around. This and last year, was a record breaking number of them in SG in one go

@Nadchew_ Really lucky they stuck around for this long, my procrastination to get out and find these guys would've been ggs for any other species
