I love these toads In fact i love all toads I just think they look amazing. When i was a small child we moved from the centre of town to a rural area, The first night we moved, mother found a baby toad and put it in a bucket of water over night to show me when I woke the next day .

My first site of a wild animal in our new home was a drowned baby toad.:(

I have loved them ever since and used to spend hours scooping them out of road drains to save their lives. even today some 40+ years later I cant pass a street drain with out looking down in to it. I have one in the study as I type rescued from a drain last November and fed and overwintered indoors

Thanks for posting Vogelcommando.

Nice you like it and it's a pleasure for me to do you ( and maybe some other ZooChatters ) a pleasure !
I alos had my first amphibian-experience with toads. As a little boy af maybe 6 years old I discovered in a small pond hunderts of mating toads and collected some of their eggs. At home I placed them in a small tank and I was able to see them hatching and the rest of their development. I wanted to keep them ( which was however illigal already in that time in the Netherlands ) and my mother managed to bring me to to decicion to release them, which I did. Next winter the pond was destroyed and I never saw a single toad anymore at that place :(
