I stated in my comprehensive review of the Miami Metrozoo that many of the enclosures look the same, as they are almost all large paddocks with dry moats separating the human visitors from the animals. The pools are also nearly identical, and at times some of the exhibits are a little on the barren side. However, the collection is hugely impressive, the animals have much more space than at the vast majority of zoos, and overall I was extremely impressed with what I saw. Zero bars, pits, grottoes, cages, etc, and the new Amazon and Beyond is a nice addition to what I perceive as a truly great zoo.
