I don´t know the trade name of those channeled plexiglas panels , but what I can say is that they have saved zoo €€€€€ since they first started to be used. There can hardly be an invertebrate , herp or bird curator who hasn´t been pressured into using this for cost savings.I say to these curators - hold out ! They are great for the commercial tomato-grower , but you are running a fine institution and you want nice bricks and mortar and shiny real glass.I will however make two concessions -firstly, they do have heat insulation efficiency and that is important in itself.Secondly, animals are less likely to crash into this and even if they do , it is a more forgiving material. So much for being politically correct - this plexiglass is bloody awful except in an off-exhibit area, and there many alternatives available , given a bit of imagination and the collaboration of a good architect.
