Somebody told me (maybe you Mobelle) that Martha the passenger pigeon was in the Smithsonian. Maybe the Carolina parakeet is there too? Maybe you can ask someone at the zoo and let us know what you find out?

I know..... It says or implies though that they're at the Smithsonian.

No, it does not say or imply that at all. If the Smithsonian has them then they are most likely at the Natural History Museum. The article you posted does not say anything at all about the actual birds being there.

I sent a message to the museum asking if Incas and Martha are there. Hopefully they will respond with an answer.

Does to me (and Martha is definitely there http://www.zoochat.com/556/aug-2012-photo-martha-cake-ice-284166/, http://www.zoochat.com/556/passenger-pigeon-memorial-251395/), if it doesn't to you than I think this should.

The second article you posted says that Incas got lost on the way to the Smithsonian when the zoo sent it and Martha there in 1977, so maybe nobody knows where it is.
