Thanks AD. Not a bad little collection, even if five* of the species aren't Australian!

*although I'm not sure what species "short-tailed fruit bat" is, I'm fairly sure its not Australian.

Seba's short-tailed fruit bat (Carollia perspicillata) from South America

Thanks, I was thinking it was a Carollia.

Are there any Australian bats (fruit or otherwise) outside of Australia (and NZ)?

I don't know why I remember this (or if I remember properly) but RSCC got some little red flying fox from New Zealand.

there are little reds and grey-headeds outside Australia. There should be black flying foxes as well because they extend up into Indonesia (Zootierliste doesn't have any in Europe but they may be in the US or somewhere). I'd be surprised if there's no spectacleds.
