Hi alexkant, are these birds being bred in Israel? Which zoos keep them? I remember the Safari in Ramat Gan had a pair in a large aviary to themselves, but it was years ago, probably in the early 90's. I'm not sure whether the Tzafari had them as well (in their 'good days' when they used to have a very impressive collection). How many Brush Turkeys are there in Israeli collections? Unfortunately there are only 2 breeding pairs in the EU. Perhaps an international breeding program is an idea if this species is to remain in zoological collections.

Hi Nick,
There is an only bird in Israel which currently is in Gan Garoo. This male came from Basel.
