also housing, as you may see if you look closely enough, NZ scaup ([i]Aythya novaeseelandiae[/i]) in the pond and South Island pied oystercatchers ([i]Haematopus finschi[/i]) at the rear behind the pond. There is a black stilt just visible at the very front of the aviary (on the left end, below the left-most scaup); it was tucked up asleep right next to the wire and impossible to get a photo of.
