Aye Aye sign

19th March 2011
So the reason is to 'make them feel at home' ? Is it actually going to have any effect on the aye-aye? sorry if I sound sceptical I'm just interested.

I think it may be because the first Aye Ayes were wild caught and so the current Aye Ayes dont know anything different...... Not sure though!

The response of a species to it's natural circadian rhythms is hardwired. Mimicking the seasonality and day/night lengths that a species has evolved to be adapted to is (in my opinion) crucial to the long term health, reproductive success and longevity of captive animals.
