that's not a banded pipefish (Doryrhamphus dactyliophorus), but either a many-banded pipefish (D. multiannulatus) or a yellow-banded pipefish (D. pessuliferus)
@Kakapo I did a little research and I found out this individual is indeed a Yellow-Banded Pipefish (Dunkerocampus pessuliferus). Thank you for pointing out my misidentification and leading me in the right direction!
