This makes me sad. I loved this enclosure when it was home to the wolves and was sorry when it was given to the dogs. What a terrible lost opportunity not to bring back the wolves.Spotted hyenas instead of Iberian wolves? Come on! But Barcelona Zoo does have Iberian wolves and very famous ones at that. They are the "lobas olimipicas" who were moved to the feline section after jumping over the fence. I read that they have now been returned to their previous exhibit, since the fences have been made taller. This still is a very nice exhibit area, i wonder where the african wild dogs went ?

This exhibit never had Iberian wolves, or at least I never saw them there. I always saw the African Wild Dogs there. The wolves were first at Montserrat Mountain (the current male mouflons enclosure) and then were moved to the current location, in front of the fin whale skeleton. The zoo still have Iberian wolves (5 females from Montpellier zoo).
