@fkalltheway Thanks for updating some of the photos in regards to changes at Mesker Park, and what did you think of the zoo overall? When I was there in 2010 the facility had just opened a shiny new rainforest jungle (in 2008) but it doesn't seem as if much progress has been made in the decade since that complex made its debut.

Overall I liked the zoo. It appears that several things have changed with the collection, however it seems that more species have been removed than added. In looking at the map you had posted from 2010, some notable additions appear to include Sichuan Takin, Sun Bear, Giant Anteater, Patagonian Mara, and Komodo Dragon. I felt that the collection was still fairly extensive, although some enclosures could use improvements. I might suggest combining some of the adjacent exhibits in the Discovery Center to give the inhabitants larger spaces. The Amazon area was by far the best and I was greatly surprised as that was the last area we visited. I was unprepared for the amount of hills everywhere and it was extremely hot and humid during my visit, but I still very much enjoyed the zoo!

They are in process of building a parakeet feeding aviary, and have plans to add penguins in the future. Extensive renovations to the African area appear next after those two projects I listed. I'll post some photos from my visit eventually, and link to the plans for Africa in the thread for Mesker Park if it hasn't already been added.
