Wow jbnbsn99, you are very lucky to have seen Bay duikers (Cephalophus dorsalis), I dont think any zoo in california has them, this species in on my bucket list, thanks for sharing those photos of this rare species !!!
They used to be more common in captivity, but now they are very rare in captivity, the only zoos outside of Africa to keep them are Ellen Trout Zoo and Lowry Park Zoo
Well from research I have done, it turns out that this statement is not to true at all, 3 zoos in California have kept them in the past, those zoos were
San Diego Zoo
San Diego Wild Animal Park
And
Los Angeles Zoo
As for zoos in other states that kept them in the past, those include the following
Baton Rouge Zoo
Bronx Zoo
Memphis Zoo
Cleveland Zoo
Jackson Zoo
Gladys Porter Zoo
And possibly others
My question is how did Ellen Trout Zoo source their Bay duikers (Cephalophus dorsalis) ?
