The Bearded Ghoul, a species of stonefish, is the very large brown fish. Besides it to the left is a smaller red fish, that I assume is a species of closely related scorpionfish. Does anyone more familiar with these fishes have any suggestions for its ID (unfortunately, the screens which this collection uses to sign species were not operating at this particular tank)?
@Kalaw I also wondered about the smaller red scorpionfish, but after studying my own photos and checking ZTL and Fishbase, I decided that it was just a smaller specimen of the bearded ghoul (Inimicus didactylus). This species is quite variable in colour.
