I'm guessing that's a picture of an Amur Leopard as they plan on receiving a female. I believe the expected arrival date is anywhere between in the next month to a year, yes?

I thought it was a Jaguar from the first time a saw it years ago up until you said they planned on getting an Amur Leopard so I assumed that's what it really was. The sign doesn't really give much info. on what they plan. Maybe they'll get a Jaguar by their 100th birthday. Perhaps then they'll start that Asian expansion that's been listed on the map for years.

And Jaguars are part of Asia?
I haven't seen the Asia expansion on the map for years. I think it's definately called off.
A Jaguar is up there because Beardsley planned to build an exhibit called Andes Adventure. It would feature Maned Wolves, Chacoan Peccaries, Darwin's Rheas, Giant Anteaters, Andean Condors, Andean Bears, Spider Monkeys, Capybara, and they'd be viewable from a boardwalk. Then Jaguars would be the final part of it, and they'd be viewed through non-visible barriers. It was canceled due to the economy at the time. The current South American Adventure plan is a modified version of Andes Adventure.

Yes teacher, I know. About a year ago (before I knew the state Beardsley is currently in and it had been years since my last visit), I saw it on the map on the zoo's website and got all excited and stuff. Imagine my disapointment when I found out it was no more.
