Beluga Pool at Oceanografic, 29/05/11

What are your opinions on this exhibit and the park in general?

I really liked the place as a whole - the aquarium side is excellent. This house is OK, but both the beluga and walrus enclosures are just a little limited in size and a little gloomily-lit. The viewing is an odd mix of very restricted and very good, depending on what the animals are doing. The species are very nice, of course!

Thank you for your thoughts - the photograph does make the house seem very dim and depressing. Do they have an outdoor pool? Thanks.

Not a public one, but there's daylight coming though from the holding pool behind - not sure if that's windowed (I suspect it is).

Thanks! Of the ones I've visited, I'd probably give the edge to Lisbon Oceanarium, but this would likely be second.

This does seem like a very good facility, and it's a shame we don't have something similar in Britain.
Regarding the 'window' it appears as if it is a gate, so they may have an outdoor pool!

Oh, that's definitely a gate to a holding pool - I just meant I don't know if the daylight on the other pool is coming through a window or not.
