Big-headed turtle

Reptile House, London Zoo, 26th September 2021.
Platysternon megacephalum.
A perverse reptile.
I had never seen it on previous visits, so I was not surprised that I didn't see it on my first circuit of the Reptile House this week. However, on impulse, I then went straight back to the exhibit instead of leaving the house. The turtle was looking at the visitors in the top front left hand corner of the tank. The glass was rather scratched and not too clean, so this photo was the best I could do. Of course, I looked for it again each time I revisited the Reptile House, but it had disappeared completely.
