The cliff face is man-made but fairly heavily weathered and overgrown, giving them a more natural look.
I don't think the tiger can access the upper cave. These small enclosures were scheduled to be among the first to be replaced when I visited in 2009, so I'm not sure if the tigers are still displayed here.
When I was young I thought that dead trees could be used to help small-sized tigers (Sumatran) to reach that cave. However, at that point, there should be a problem with keeper access to the cave. Considering the recent addiction of a safety barrier to the moat steps (clearly visible in the photo), I only wonder how they could resolve the problem of creating a safe route for the keepers!
