Nice photo.Shame about the name of the institution.A biopark is a zoo - no more, no less.I always prefer to call a spade a spade.Anything else is just an unnecessary confusion.

I actually agree with this. Particularly as once you're inside, Bioparco is very much a traditional zoo.

I suppose it is the zoo's attempt to rebrand. Strictly speaking you could also call a botanical garden a bioparc if you wanted to.

I agree, what’s odd about it though is the fact that on all the maps of Rome that I saw and signs throughout the city refer only to Rome’s ‘Zoo’ and not its Biopark.

That's true - only the signs within the Villa Borghese park itself actually call it 'Bioparco'. And its address is 'Viale del Giardino Zoologico'!
