Bird house - New Estrildid finch aviary (Former Mexican military macaw indoor aviary), 2021-07-17

The macaws have since moved to the new parrot aviaries (reconstructed old raptor aviaries) and the aviary was recently refurbished to house a variety of Estrildid finches. A new landscape decal graphic was also applied to the window since June 12th.
Species list: Timor zebra finch (Taeniopygia guttata guttata), Gouldian finch (Chloebia gouldiae), Scaly-breasted munia, spotted munia, nutmeg mannikin or spice finch (Lonchura punctulata), Cut-throat finch (Amadina fasciata), Double-barred finch (Stizoptera bichenovii), Red-throated parrotfinch (Erythrura psittacea), Star finch (Bathilda ruficauda), Common waxbill, Saint Helena waxbill or St Helena waxbill (Estrilda astrild) and Red-billed long-tailed Finch (Poephila acuticauda hecki).
