Mundo Maya: Bird ID? January 3, 2018. I thought this was another Ramphocelus female but a knowledgeable Facebook friend of mine thinks it's something different, perhaps a Tachyphonus species.
I'm quite sure this is not a Tachyphonus-species. I've taken care for 2 species of them and the bill is more slender than the bill from the bird on the picture ( and female Tachyphonus are of a much lighter brown coloration.
From bill and coloration I would say one of the Ramphocelus-species.
