Is most of the dense undergrowth actually fenced off from the black bears? This new exhibit opened with some good buzz but where is the grass? Minnesota Zoo's new black bear habitat is far more impressive and yet this enclosure in the photo is the only notable new addition to Caldwell Zoo in many years. Unless one includes the small playground.
Yes, all the dense undergrowth is outside the exhibit and the exhibit itself is quite small. Too small really, considering there is nothing but forest all around it I do not know why they did not make it bigger.
