@zoomaniac I’d only be guessing, but maybe to keep waterfowl (I’m thinking Canada Geese) and Seagulls out? Maybe because the bears have climbing opportunities? Maybe so the exhibit is ready for another species if available? I really couldn’t say except that several exhibits were over netted, some to discourage waterfowl and limit the spread of diseases. Others, the big cats to keep the animals in the enclosure.
