@Mr Gharial North America has a lot of good wildlife news, actually; besides Black Bears, several other iconic species like American Alligator, Bald Eagle, California Condors, North American River Otters, American Beavers, and American Bison are all species brought back from the brink or near-brink in the last century. Gray Wolves are really a success story there too, even though they've been periodically imperiled by expanded hunting permissions.
